Heat in on Caron Butler?
In an interesting blog by an ex Wizards beat writer dealing with the Gilbert Arenas gun issue, Mike Jones throws this in at the end:
“The Wizards might not have a hard time dealing Caron Butler in a package deal with James, however, but not to Houston. I’m hearing Butler and James could be headed to either Miami or Chicago. Some of the pieces Washington could be trying to get back from Chicago, the source said, could be Kirk Hinrich and Jerome James. Before, the Wizards hadn’t wanted to take on more money, but it appears that as they grow more desperate to turn things around, their main motivation is bringing in new life to kick-start a rebound.”
I don’t see it, as Riley would be loathe to add any payroll for 2010, even for Caron, whom he loves. I wouldn’t trade Beasley at this point for CB4 (who earns over $10.5 million next year).

I can’t see it either, though Butler would supplant Q (would that annoy Wade?). I really don’t see Caron for Beas upgrading the team but I do see it costing us a lot of 2010 salary. it would also signal that Lebron is not on the radar, surely.
We should keep Beas but if not then his trade has to be in synch with getting a max star early and getting a decent PG.
