Today at 3:30pm on ABC, the Heat (24-7) take on the Orlando Magic (20-11) at the American Airlines Arena down in Miami. This is a big matchup for both teams and both are on winning streaks. Orlando has won 4 in a row, while Miami has been destroying opponents on their current 5 game winning streak. Both teams are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
Miami will be looking to avenge their February 8th loss to Orlando, where the Magic beat the Heat 102-89. This was the first game of the 6 game road trip, and the Heat haven’t lost since. The Heat are well rested and playing the best basketball they have since the Big Three came to Miami, so this game should be a lot different.
The Heat have to stop Dwight Howard. Last game, Howard scored 25 points and had 24 rebounds. Also, the Magic are not going to knock down 17 3-pointers like they did last time. Ryan Anderson has played well all season and Miami needs to take care of him. Chalmers will play against the Magic after being injured in their last meeting, and between him and Norris Cole, the Heat will force Jameer Nelson to make plays.
The Heat and Magic are both on winning streaks, but no one team in the NBA is playing as well as the Heat right now. Orlando is either very hot or very cold, but Miami’s efficiency should prevail. Expect an energetic, high-paced game this Sunday afternoon.
