A Closer Look at the Heat Current Win Streak

What the Miami Heat have managed to do recently may be the most impressive feat this group has accomplished together. Not only are they on a current seven game win streak, but they have managed to win every one of those games by double digits. I decided to take a closer look at the numbers during the win streak.

Miami has gone over the century mark six of the seven times while their opponents only managed to get over 90 in two of the seven games. The margin of victory for Miami during the streak is currently at 16.9. I don’t know about you but that figure makes my jaw drop. As if that wasn’t enough, they’ve played these seven games in a span of twelve days including their back to back to back road trip. The team, as a whole, is shooting 50.1% from the field while they are holding their opposition a whole ten percentage points below that mark at 40.1% shooting. I believe the phrase “clicking on all cylinders” would properly apply here.

Wade and LeBron, specifically, have been playing cohesively on another level that what Heat fans have been used to seeing thus far in their times as teammates. It seems as if both of them have a better understanding of where one another will be on the floor when playing together and put more of an effort to be moving without the ball while the other is handling it. LeBron and Wade have put up numbers during the streak have been impressive to say the least. LeBron is putting up 24.3 ppg on 59% shooting from the field while averaging 7.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists during the seven games. Wade has been just as impressive and productive as LeBron . Wade is shooting an eye opening 59% from the field and putting up 23.4 ppg, 5 rebounds and 4.1 assists. It’s just unfair to others to have these two together putting up these types of numbers and be surrounded by a group that includes Bosh, Haslem, Miller, Chalmers, Battier and many others that allow them to be just as frightening defensively. Linsanity might be the craze around the NBA right now but come Thursday, the storm that is Jemery Lin will run into a burning heat wave taking place in South Beach. I’m looking forward to it, that’s for sure.
