Tonight, James Jones will try to repeat as the NBA 3-point shooting champion in Orlando. Last year, he beat out a loaded field, but this year Jones faces a unique field of players.
One of the people Jones will be competing against is his Miami teammate, Mario Chalmers. Chalmers has had a great season from three-point range, where he is 6th in the league with a 45.6% average from downtown.
He will also be facing 2 All-Stars in Kevin Love and Kevin Durant. They both have the lowest percentages out of the competitors, but they have shown that they can knock down the long ball.
The other 2 competitors are Anthony Morrow of the New Jersey Nets, who will be wearing a Drazen Petrovic jersey to honor the former Nets start, and Ryan Anderson, the surprising Magic player who has had a breakout season and is shooting 42% from 3-point land.
It should be a very interesting contest, but it’s good to know that the Heat have a 33% chance of winning it. Tune in tonight to support your Heat!
