Marc Spears of Yahoo.com has reported that the Miami Heat are expected to make a big run at Ray Allen this offseason. Any team can use a shooter, but we are talking about the best 3-point shooter of our generation. Ray Allen is as clutch as they come and at 36 years old, he is in tremendous shape and still playing tons of minutes.
If Miami could free up enough cap room to sign Allen, it would be major. Miami is projected to be $20 million over the 58$ million cap limit, so if Miami could do some dealing, it is a possibility. Mike Miller would most likely get amnestied, or Miami would try to work a sign-and-trade deal with Boston. Even though Ray Allen has always been the bad guy against the Heat, he would be a great person and player to add to an organization looking for depth and championships.
