On Thursday Night, the East and West captains for All-Star Saturday named the teams that would be participating in that night’s event.
East captain Dwyane Wade selected his Miami Heat teammate Chris Bosh to lead “Team Bosh” in the Sears Shooting Stars competition.
Bosh will be teamed up with Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins and Tamika Catchings, who in 2012 won the WNBA Finals MVP while leading the Indiana Fever to the WNBA Championship.
“Team Bosh” is one of two teams representing the East, along with “Team Lopez”, which is lead by Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez and also features former Charlotte Hornets Point Guard Muggsy Bogues and Swin Cash, currently playing for the Chicago Fire.
They will be competing against two West teams led by Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and Houston Rockets‘ guard James Harden. Westbrook’s team features former point guard Sam Cassell and Maya Moore of the Minnesota Lynx, while Harden’s team also features seven-time NBA Champion Robert Horry and Tina Thompson of Seattle Storm.
The Sears Shooting Stars competition will be a part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night and is an “Around-The-World” type competition where the three stars have to convert shots from different points on the court that represent a different point value.
It will be part of this year’s “East vs. West” theme, headed by Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, the West and East’s respective captains.
