Heat Fans Should Be Rooting for the Brooklyn Nets

The Miami Heat will face the Brooklyn Nets or the Chicago Bulls in the next round of the playoffs.  Chicago currently leads the series 3-2, with the opportunity to close out the series at home on Thursday.

If you’re a Heat fan, you should be rooting for the Brooklyn Nets — the Heat have had much more success against the Nets than the Bulls this season.

  • The Heat score almost 14 more points per 100 possessions against the Nets than against the Bulls.
  • The Nets also score almost six less points per 100 possessions against the Heat than the Bulls.

  • In total, the Heat have outscored the Nets by 27 points per 100 possessions this season.
  • By comparison, the Heat have outscored the Bulls by “only” 8 points per 100 possessions this season.

So all Heat fans should be hoping that the Nets can beat the Bulls in Chicago on Thursday — and then win Game 7 in Brooklyn.  Unfortunately, I bet most Heat fans, like Hoodie Allen, have no faith in Brooklyn.
