I can’t wait until Wednesday.
More specifically, I can’t wait until 8:30PM on Wednesday night because that’s when the Eastern Conference Series between the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat will have officially started.
Why can’t I wait until the Heat-Pacers series starts?
One reason is that we can finally all stop speculating about what is going to happen, and actually see what will happen.
The other reason is that last year’s series between these two teams were full of heated moments (no pun intended), hard fouls, and physical play — and I can’t wait for more of that hard, tough, playoff basketball (please, take me back to the NBA in the 80’s!)
So here are some of the best scuffles and hard fouls from last year’s Heat — Pacers series.
Dexter Pittman’s Assassination Attempt
The best part about this is Dexter Pittman’s wink (see 1:01) — he knew exactly what he was doing.
Tyler Hansbrough Mauls Dwyane Wade
It’s not really that bad. Yes, he rakes his hand across Dwyane Wade’s face. Yes, he causes Dwyane Wade to bleed. But let’s be honest, this isn’t as explicit as the demolition job that Dexter Pittman attempts against Lance Stephenson. In fact, the greatest part of this is what happens after…
Udonis Haslem Exacts Revenge
Hansbrough must have known this was coming after his foul on Wade.
As Hansbrough attempts a shot after receiving the ball on a pick-and-roll, Udonis Haslem absolutely destroys Hansbrough by leveling him with two-armed slam directed at the shoulder/head that sends Hansbrough crashing to the ground.
Dwyane Wade Body Checks Darren Collison
Wade was pissed after he thought the officials blew a foul call, so he basically played tee-ball with Darren Collison’s body as the Pacers were streaking on the fastbreak.
Those were some of the hard fouls from last year’s Heat-Pacers series, and I’m sure we’re set to see more of the same physical play in the next couple of weeks — at least, as a fan, I hope so.
