One Chart That'll Blow Your Mind: Manu Ginobili Is Lightning In A Bottle

Jun 16, 2013; San Antonio, TX, USA; San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili (20) celebrates against the Miami Heat during the fourth quarter of game five in the 2013 NBA Finals at the AT

As erratic as Manu is, there is one thing that seems to hold constant: he usually has one “big” game per series.  For instance, he had 18 points in Game 1 of the Los Angeles Lakers series — in Game 2 he had 13 points, and 6 and 8 points in Games 3 and 4, respectively.  In the Golden State series he had 21 points in Game 4; he didn’t crack 20 points in any of the other games.  In the Memphis series, he scored 19 points in Game 3 — and he didn’t even score in double digits in Games 1, 2, and 4.

There’s danger in trying to predict what’s going to happen in the future based on what’s happened in the past, but sometimes that is all the data anybody has to predict the future — and I predict that Manu Ginobili won’t score more than 15 points in another game in this series.

What do you think?
