The Miami Heat have expressed an interest in reuniting former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates Mo Williams and LeBron James and, with Williams still unsigned, just might be able to make it happen.

According to the Miami Herald, Williams could opt to sign with the Heat if he doesn’t receive a better offer from another team.

The Heat is among teams that has shown some interest in free agent point guard Mo Williams. And Williams is said to have interest in Miami if he doesn’t get an offer higher than the minimum.”

Williams spent the past two seasons with the Utah Jazz. If signed by the Heat, he would likely compete for a backup role to Mario Chalmers with third-year-guard Norris Cole.

The veteran Williams would prefer to find a job that pays more than the veteran minimum and allow him to compete for the starting job. If he doesn’t get it, though, it seems that Miami is a good fit.
