Miami Heat: Marcus Camby Signs With Rockets, Won’t Join Heat

Marcus Camby won’t be headed to Miami.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Camby will sign a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets.

Free-agent center Marcus Camby has reached agreement to sign with the Houston Rockets, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Camby previously played with the Rockets during the 2011-12 season and has an offseason home there. He joins two other centers in Houston in Dwight Howard and Omer Asik. Camby yearned to sign with a title contender, leading him to the Rockets.”

The Miami Heat showed an interest in bringing in the 38-year-old center who played sparingly for the New York Knicks last season before being traded to the Toronto Raptors in the Andrea Bargnani deal.

If the Heat still want to add a center, Greg Oden, of course, remains available.
