LeBron James’ friendship with rapper Jay Z is no secret. Jay Z has dropped plenty of raps in which he drops LeBron’s name even despite his former ownership position with the Brooklyn Nets.
So when Jay stopped in Miami on his tour with Justin Timberlake, who are both supporting new albums, it is so surprise that LeBron would take a night out of his life to rap along to “99 Problems” and even make an excuse to sing a long with “Sexy Back” for one heck of a night.
As someone who attended this concert in San Francisco a few weeks ago, I can say that this show is and was incredible. Jay Z cannot be underestimated as a live performance. When so many rappers show up and take the easy way out by rapping over their own verses, Jay Z does all the work. And on this massive tour, that’s a lot of work.
Not to treat Timberlake to an oversight. JT shows up to, with dance moves, guitars, piano and multiple outfit changes. Man, can both of these guys entertain.
We will start now with LeBron’s commute to the show to Sun Life Stadium in Miami, where the concert was held.
The obnoxious bright lights ahead of them? Looks like a police escort. I had to sit in an hour and a half of traffic. But, then again, I’m not LeBron.
We are then treated to a look in on the show. (Side note: Why do celebrities always have reception no matter what? Do you get reception at concerts? Do they get some sort of secret important person cell phone plan?)
The song being played is “Holy Grail,” the opening track on Jay Z’s new release “Magna Carta… Holy Grail” and it conveniently featured Timberlake on vocals.
Next, we learn who it is LeBron rolled to the show with.
Man, would that be a fun group to go with. What I would give to sit sandwiched between LeBron rapping along with Jay and Hart saying literally anything.
Oh, hey, speaking of sandwich:
Can Hart do anything that isn’t funny? Seriously. Look at that face! Like “Dang. I’M CAUGHT WITH MY SANDWICH!!!!”
I think LeBron had fun.
