Former Miami Heat center Dexter Pittman will join the Chicago Bulls, according to sportando.net (via ProBasketballTalk.com)
“Free agent big man Dexter Pittman turned down an offer from Italian Club Sidigas Avellino, a source told Sportando. The center will join the training camp of the Chicago Bulls hoping to get a contract for the coming season.”
The Bulls have 13 players under guaranteed contracts, leaving two open roster spots for the regular season. Pittman will try to lock down one of those spots. Teams are allowed 20 bodies for training camp.
Pittman couldn’t crack the Heat’s rotation last season and Miami decided to trade him to Memphis for the rights to center Ricky Sanchez, who is currently playing in Argentina.
