Magic Johnson Responds To LeBron James "Leaving Him Off" Of Top 3

LeBron James has wrongly received criticism for failing to utter the words Earvin “Magic” Johnson when asked by FoxSports1 to name the top three players in NBA history.

For the record, he did realize he forgot and added him. BUT HOW DARE HE NOT SAY HIM THIRD OR SOMETHING.

And classic, classic Magic took to Twitter Thursday to voice his opinion. Of course, it always comes down to rings, doesn’t it?

Seriously, did Magic even watch the interview? Because LeBron, quite immediately, made sure to add Magic. I mean, he answered the unexpected question off the cuff. And is that a subtle attack on Julius Erving, too? No one seems to be talking about that.

Magic wasn’t done, however. Just to make sure he doesn’t sound cocky…

At least he granted him access to the first amendment and added an exclamation point. Amaright?

Magic’s chirping game reminds me more of Michael Jordan than LeBron, though (compliment?). I don’t know what it is with those two, but they get all touchy when people (Read: LeBron) don’t give them their “deserved” respect.

Why do they even care what he has to say? Is it a “show respect to your elders” kind of thing or a “holy cow this guy could join our elite group on Mt. Olympus, better knock him down a peg/ welcome to the Mount, rookie” type thing?

Magic criticized LeBron after the decision and criticized him for this nonsense. And honestly, I understand if he asked about it on ESPN/ABC but taking to Twitter is petty. LeBron comes out looking like the bigger man (although, uhuh).

What’s LeBron doing? Dressing up like Dr. J (how dare he not dress like Magic?!) and is getting ready for another season. Getting ready to get more rings, that is.
