In a dominating performance, the Heat defeated the Pistons 110-95, to improve to 16-5 on the season.
For the Heat, LeBron James led with team with 24 points and 9 assists, to go along with 7 rebounds. Ray Allen scored 18 points in the place of Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh pitched in 16 points and 9 rebounds.
For the Pistons, Brandon Jennings scored 19 points and 6 assists. Andre Drummond poured in 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Josh Smith contributed 13 points.
In a complete turn of events from last Tuesday, the Heat were in control from the opening tip. They showed the dominance we have come to expect from the defending champions. After being dominated on the glass by the Pistons in their prior matchup, the Heat made the gap much smaller and gave a much better effort, led by Bosh. The Heat shot 55.6% from the field and 90% from the foul line, while holding the Pistons to 42% from the field and forced 17 turnovers.
The next game for Miami is in Indiana, against the red-hot Pacers (18-2). The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start on Tuesday night.
