We all know that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh can opt out after this season with the Miami Heat. Much of the talk is about whether James will stay in Miami or return to Cleveland, but lately the feeling has been that he will stay in South Florida.
For Wade, opting in may account for the most money. Bosh, however, hasn’t been talked about nearly as much as his counterparts.
Maybe that’s the problem.
ESPN.com‘s Chad Ford believes Bosh is most likely to leave.
From what I can gather talking to teams and agents around the league, it’s Chris Bosh who is the most likely to leave. LeBron and Wade are so good, I think we all forget what a force Bosh can be. Lots of teams would give him the max and feature him in ways Miami can’t. LeBron might leave, but I think the odds are in Miami’s favor.
I can understand Bosh wanting to leave to get a max deal and be the focal point in an offense. However, would he give up the chance to play for championships in order to sign with a team that could give him the maximum value? Would the Lakers make a play for him?
Either way, this is something we should monitor. Bosh is smart, and if he decides contending for championships is his top priority, then he will hitch his wagon to LeBron.
