The Cleveland Cavaliers will retire Zydrunas Ilgauskas’ jersey Saturday night and LeBron James, who played with Big Z in Cleveland, plans to attend the ceremony.
“It’s looking like I’ll be able to make it,” James told the Miami Herald. “I’m still not quite sure. I want to be there to support him on one unforgettable night.”
On Saturday afternoon, James posted on Instagram:
“Words can’t express how happy I am for u today! My truly good friend getting his jersey lifted into the rafters tonight. I appreciate everything Big Z and you deserve this more than anyone I know! #Zzzzzzzzzz #Zebrew #StriveForGreatnessFollowing”
The Heat play the Chicago Bulls Sunday, giving James enough time to attend the ceremony in Cleveland should he choose to.
