The Miami Heat are still uncertain about the status of point guard Mario Chalmers, as he remains out of practice with a shin injury he suffered int he Game 1 win over the Charlotte Bobcats. Chalmers banged up his shin in the first quarter of this past Sunday’s game in Miami and as a result, he’s been held out of practice and his status for Wednesday’s game is uncertain.

It’s not as if the Heat really need Chalmers in Game 2 — or the rest of this series for that matter. Without Al Jefferson, the Bobcats are even less likely to beat the Heat than they were before and it’s clear that Chalmers still needs rest.
Chalmers really shouldn’t play in Game 2 but if he does, it’s likely that he’s seen in a limited capacity to make sure this shin issue doesn’t linger into games that are more meaningful.
