The NBA end of season awards are being handed out and LeBron James is waiting on what will happen with the MVP award. While Kevin Durant is his only competition — what else is new — LeBron did get some votes for other awards with one voter giving him an interesting nod for an award he really wasn’t up for.
Clippers analyst Michael Smith (no, not the one who works for ESPN) apparently made a mistake on his ballot for Most Improved Player and gave a vote to LeBron James. Smith addressed this snafu by saying he accidentally submitted his MVP ballot in the MIP section.
@Ben_Baskin must’ve been a mistake. Those were my MVP votes. Most improved, I voted for Davis First Dragic second

For the record, Smith had Kevin Durant ahead of LeBron in his MVP voting which could be a precursor to Durant usurping LeBron as the MVP of the league. We won’t know that until later in the offseason but let’s just hope all the ballots were submitted and tallied correctly.
