Kenny Smith Doesn't Think Miami Heat Will Repeat

The Miami Heat are now a game away from burying the Charlotte Bobcats in what would be the only first-round sweep this postseason. While other teams in the East like the Pacers and Bulls struggle to get the upper hand in their series and teams out west like the Thunder and Spurs in the same situation, the Heat are sitting pretty when it comes to their chances of pulling off the three-peat.

But ask TNT analyst Kenny Smith what he thinks about the Heat’s chances of repeating as champions and he’s not so positive.

Ira Winderman passed along Smith’s quote from the TNT broadcast:

Earlier Saturday, TNT’s Kenny Smith on the Heat’s chances of repeating, “I don’t think the Heat can win another championship this year.”

Miami is up 3-0 on the Bobcats and with the weak conference it looks like they may skate to another Finals appearance. Smith may be right about the Heat needing work, as it’s not a given that they’re off the races but the conference is certainly doing their best to help them out.
