The Heat put on a dominant performance in their first road playoff game as they defeated the Bobcats 98-85, to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference First Round matchup.
The Heat responded with a dominant Second quarter, winning it 35-19, as they took a 58-46 lead into halftime. James scored nine points in the quarter, including five free throws in the last two seconds. Chris Douglas-Roberts lead the Bobcats with six points in the quarter.
Miami came out of the break and put the game away, winning the third quarter 28-19, to extend their lead to 21 (86-65). James once again scored the quarter high, hitting 12 in the period. Josh McRoberts led the way for the Bobcats in the quarter with eight.
With the game out of reach, the Bobcats won the fourth quarter 20-12, to make the final score somewhat respectable. Gary Neal and Douglas-Roberts each scored nine points in the period. Chris Andersen scored four for Miami.
In all, James led the way for Miami with 30 points, to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists. Dwyane Wade added 17 points and six assists. Andersen added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
For Charlotte, Al Jefferson finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Douglas-Roberts scored 17 points off the bench. McRoberts and Kemba Walker each scored 13.
Game 4 will again be in Charlotte, with the Heat looking for the sweep. The game will be Monday, and the tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
