The Miami Heat handled the Charlotte Bobcats with relative ease on Saturday night and are now a game away from what would prove to be the only series sweep of the first-round in the NBA Playoffs. But while the game was sort of a snoozer, there was one moment that folks can’t seem to stop talking about.
In the third quarter, LeBron drove the lane and went up for a dunk but while he was doing so it appeared that he was staring down Bobcats owner Michael Jordan in the process.
It’s no secret that LeBron looked up Jordan while growing up but he’s coming after MJ’s records hard and fast and his road to a Jordan-style championship three-peat begins with beating Jordan’s current team.
There is a lot of debate about if LeBron was actually staring down Jordan but it’s just another fun aspect of the rivalry to break down and read way too much into. Earlier this year, when LeBron went for 64 points, he did so against the Bobcats and did so for the most part while going left with his shots — something Jordan called him out as not being able to do.
Maybe we’re reading too much into this but what’ the fun in not doing that?
