Erik Spoelstra Says Dwayne Wade Not Ready to Play 40 Minutes Yet

The Miami Heat no longer have to worry about the Charlotte Bobcats — not that they were in the first place – but there are still things that they need to be mindful of moving forward. Chief among their concerns is the health of Dwyane Wade and how long it will be until he is ready to go after it at 100 percent again.

According to the game film, that could but soon but according to Erik Spoelstra it may be some time before Wade is back at it running at full strength.

Per Winderman:

Spoelstra on Wade, “I don’t think we can push him to 40 minutes yet.”

Wade was limited because of foul trouble in Game 4 against the Bobcats but he’s been dealing with lingering issues all year long. Having him healthy in the Finals will be key and it’s hard to see the Heat really needing him before the Conference Finals at best.

As long as Wade is healthy, the Heat are in good shape and there’s no reason to play I’m 40 minutes until he’s ready or absolutely needed to.
