The career of LeBron James is hardly close to being over but that doesn’t mean Hollywood isn’t already trying to get started telling his life story on the big screen. While we won’t see the LeBron narrative wrapped up until at least 2020, Deadline is reporting that two different LeBron James biopics are in the works and one could get the green light before the weekend is out.
Terence Winter, who is best known for his television work on The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire as well as his Oscar nomination for penning The Wolf of Wall Street, is lined up to produce the film with his wife.
The project is based on a pitch by Frank E. Flowers, with Terence Winter and Rachel Winter attached to produce with James and his manager Maverick Carter. The deal is expected to be sealed before the weekend.
This seems laughable but taking into consideration that Yasiel Puig also has a movie about him in the works seems to make more sense of this. The film, should it not get stuck in ‘Development Hell’ would focus on LeBron’s formative years in high school and his big decision to skip college and get draft No. 1 overall by his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.
