If the Miami Heat want to make sure they make it past the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference playoffs, then they’re going to need to make sure they’re firing on all cylinders. One of those cylinders is James Jones, who has been showing glimpses of greatness plenty of Heat fans can appreciate.
It’s not just fans who appreciate Jones’ skills either, as he’s got a big fan in Shane Battier, a guy who he’s been battling with for minutes.
“He is a different level,” Heat forward Shane Battier said. “I have never ever played with anyone like J.J. — to shoot like he can under any condition. You put that guy in, and you think he’s making the shot. That is not the norm. … That guy is really one in a million.”
Battier and Jones each have skills unique to them that the Heat can use, and it seems that Battier may be more useful against the Nets. Still, Jones and his shooting will be welcomed when the second unit gets on the court and it’s clear that his hard work is being appreciated.
