There was a scene at the end of The Dark Knight Rises in which a battered Bane proclaims to a surprising fit Batman that he thought he had broken him in their previous fight. TO be fair, Batman did get his back broken but he fought back to defeat Bane.
That’s a sentiment shared by Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat, as Wade said as much while referring to the fact that the heat thought Paul Piece and Kevin Garnett had already been buried by the Heat only to have them pop right back up with a new team.
“I thought when we played them in Boston, we buried them,” Heat guard Dwyane Wade said. “They had their reign on top. We were able to overcome. We’ve had our reign on top, and now they’re trying to overcome [again].”
As if they didn’t get enough the first couple of times with the Celtics, Pierce and Garnett are back with the Nets to try and do the one thing they could never do — beat the Heat in the postseason. It’s what will make this series amazing to watch as it seems both Pierce and Garnett just can’t let the Heat go.
