LeBron James will be going for the next leg of completing the three-peat with the Miami Heat tonight, but what he won’t be getting is the MVP trophy for another consecutive season. Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder won the award today and will be taking it from LeBron who won it last year.
Something LeBron James did get — at last from one NBA writer — was a this place MVP vote when all was tallied and counted. According to the official voting registry, NBA writer Chris Sheridan from the blog SheridanHoops.com gave LeBron a third place vote behind Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin.
Only MVP vote for LeBron James out of Top 2 came from Chris Sheridan of http://t.co/dRrrwABylr, who had Griffin second and LeBron third.

While everyone is entitled to their vote, Blake Griffin did not have a better season than LeBron James and you literally cannot slice the season in anyway that would present such a thing as being a possible truth.
Blake had a great year, and he deserved MVP votes but third place votes are what he largely should have gotten — and he did, for the most part. LeBron’s third place vote may not mean much to anyone, but let’s hope it lights a fire under him at the best possible time.
