Chris Andersen Finishes in 11th for Sixth Man Of The Year

The Sixth Man of the Year Award was handed out today even though we already knew who was going tow in the award. While the award went west to the Los Angeles Clippers and Jamal Crawford, there were some votes that came Miami’s way as Chris Andersen finished in 11th place in the final voting tally.

Andersen picked up two third place votes from a couple of Heat homers as srael Gutierrez from ESPN and Ethan Skolnick both gave Andersen his two third place votes but there were worse offenses on the ballot. For instance, Timofey Mozgov from the Denver Nuggets got a vote which shows you how weird this award is.

Still, Birdman has been amazingly important to the Heat’s success in the postseason and while he may not win regular season awards for his hustle, he helps the team as a whole win the best award in basketball.
