NBA Playoffs 2014: Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade Likely To See Extended Minutes

The Miami Heat will need everyone to fire on all cylinders against the Brooklyn Nets as even though they’re heavily favored to win the series, Miami needs to be careful not to get too confident. One way to make sure the Heat win is to make sure their biggest stars are playing and that’s why it’s likely that Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will see extended minutes not only against the Nets but for the rest of the postseason.

Per Ira Winderman:

I think they will both get minutes, but I think the only “extended” minutes will belong to Wade, James and Chris Bosh. The Heat need their Big Three to stand tallest, with the Nets arriving with the greater depth of options.

What Miami needs is for the Big 3 to carry this team, as the bench depth isn’t what it used to be and the team needs them now perhaps more than ever. It doesn’t look like a tough road to the Finals but we’ve seen what happens when you let a team in a series as the Pacers, Thunder and Spurs all nearly lost their opening round series as a result.

That shouldn’t happen to Miami moving forward and won’t so long as extended minutes are sent Wade and Bosh’s way.
