The Miami Heat have been battling injuries all season long and they have seemingly only just now gotten over the hump. But not everyone is back to 100 percent and there have been questions about the health of Dwyane Wade in recent months and how he’d hold up if given extended minutes.
It’s been a while since he’s last played 40 minutes but Erik Spoelstra let Wade play out a full load in Game 2, even if he wasn’t sure the wheels would stay on for the entire ride.
“I thought that I was going to have to take him out at some point, but it was so close, and it got to the six-minute mark, five-minute, four-minute … ‘You’re gonna have to finish this thing out,’ ” Spoelstra said. “He dug deep for that one.”
Miami needs Wade to be healthy for the postseason run they’re on and it seems he’s getting back to where he needs to be. The first hump is always the hardest to get over, and let’s hope that hump was defeated in Game 2.
