The film career of LeBron James is starting to pick up, even as his basketball career continues to take him to higher heights each year. At the moment, the Brooklyn Nets are in the crosshairs of the Heat and LeBron James but so too is a career in film that continues to grow.
According to Deadline, LeBron has been cast in the next Judd Apatow film, which will be titled Trainwreck.
LeBron James, whose Miami Heat trounced the Brooklyn Nets in the opening game of the second round of the NBA playoffs last night, had time to tweet that he has closed a deal to join the cast of Trainwreck. That’s the Universal comedy that Judd Apatowwill direct and also just also got Cliff (Method Man) Smith. Script is by the film’s star, rising comedienne Amy Schumer. James joins her, Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, John Cena and Mike Birbiglia.
It’s not as though LeBron is going full Space Jam here, but there’s a chance this opens up more and more roles in films for him much like Shaquille O’Neal does now in just about eery Adam Sandler movie we see released.
