The biggest story to hit sports this past week continued to be the Donald Sterling controversy in Los Angeles after the owner made his heinous views on the world known to the public. Since then, Sterling has continued to make a jackass of himself by blaming AIDS and wanting to get laid among reasons he’s being forced into the situation he’s in.
Aside from Sterling, his wife Shelly Sterling is gripping onto the Clippers with her old wrinkled hands and refuses to let go. She’s prepared to sue to keep the team and demands that she not be held accountable for what her husband and conscious partner of many years believes.
LeBron James isn’t buying it and is calling for all those in the Sterling family to be banished from owning the team.
“As players, we want what’s right and we don’t feel like no one in his family should be able to own the team,” James said after the Miami Heat practiced for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Brooklyn.
James isn’t wrong and he’s not attacking those in the Sterling family who are indeed innocent of the sins of their father. But Shelly Sterling is not to be counted among the innocent and her entitlement to a team that no one wants her or anyone with her name to own shows just how out of touch she is, just like her husband.
