NBA Playoffs: Greg Oden Unlikely to Play a Major Role in Conference Finals

The Miami Heat have had their depth questioned this season but they’ll have to continue to work with what feels like a 14 man roster of talent. While Greg Oden was signed in the offseason to play a role in the postseason against the Pacers, it’s unlikely that he plays much of a factor in the outcome of the series.

Per the Sun-Sentinel:

To a degree, I find it amusing that many of these Pacers questions mention Haslem and Oden in the same breath. Greg hasn’t played in so long that I couldn’t fathom him moving anywhere close to the rotation, although it is possible he again is active on game nights, possibly pushing Michael Beasley back to the inactive list.

Oden has been a bust so far this season, but at least he’s still on roster which can’t be said about Andrew Bynum in Indiana. He may not be playing much of a factor, but it’s still nice to have Oden in the back pocket even if he really isn’t as valuable as we may have thought he’d be in this exact scenario.
