The Miami Heat are pressing on with their push for a third straight title but there are already some looking ahead to the offseason and the moves that Miami can make to ensure they’re back in the Conference Finals in 2014-15. While some are taking the negative route and talking about LeBron James opting out and leaving South Beach, others are thinking a little outside of the box and are wondering who Miami can bring on rather than jettison.
One interesting name is Shaun Livingston, who may be able to come in and replace Mario Chalmers should he try to cash in on his association with the Heat these past four years of success. Ira Winderman from the Sun Sentinel pondered this question and noted that while it could make sense, Liviningston will likely be out of Miami’s price range seeing as he’ll be wanting to cash in on his recent success as well.
This raises an all important question for Heat fans that we don’t often ponder — what does the future look like? It may not be what the present looks like as pieces such as Mario Chalmers are bound to move on but scenarios where veteran stars are brought on mustn’t be cast aside simply because the national media thinks everyone who plays against Miami hates them too much to be smart enough to join rank.
