NBA Draft Lottery Results: Cleveland Cavaliers Win No. 1 Overall Pick

The NBA Draft Lottery was tonight and while the Miami Heat had no chance of winning a top pick, it’s still an interesting event that all fans of the NBA are at least mildly intrigued by. Despite not having a rooting interest in the lottery, Heat fans likely want to know how things stacked up anyways, as the order of the lottery may end up having a trickle effect that sees a talented player slide to Miami at the back of the draft order.

Heading into things, the Milwaukee Bucks had the best chance of winning the lottery with the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic trailing not far behind.

But it was anyone’s lottery as we’d seen teams make a giant leap up the draft board before and many were wondering if that would happen again tonight.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers (Had 1.7% Chance of Winning)
2. Milwaukee Bucks
3. Philadelphia 76ers
4. Orlando Magic
5. Utah Jazz
6. Boston Celtics
7. Los Angeles Lakers
8. Sacramento Kings
9. Charlotte Hornets (From Pistons)
10. Philadelphia 76ers (From Pelicans)
11. Denver Nuggets
12. Orlando Magic (From Nuggets via Knicks)
13. Minnesota Timberwolves
14. Phoenix Suns

Because the Cavaliers finished in the top-3, the Detroit Pistons lost their first round pick which was only top-8 protected

Event though we’re not invested in it, what do you think about the way the NBA Lottery stacked up? Do you think the final results are fair or do you think that someone got robbed by the bounce of the ping pong ball? Sound off in the comments section below (when you’re not busy watching the Heat in Game 2, of course) and let your basketball opinion be heard.
