The Indiana Pacers came into Game 3 on Saturday with plenty of confidence but what they lacked was a fourth quarter burst to comeback and take a 2-1 series lead. Instead, the Heat own that series lead and Indiana is having to go back and reassess what they’ve been doing wrong to get in this hole.
Per the Sun-Sentinel, Paul George is one of many Pacers players that recognize the team cannot allow themselves to underestimate the power of the Heat at any point in this series.
“You can’t play around with this team,” Pacers forward Paul George said. “I thought we got comfortable at one point.”
That’s a bit of an understatement by George as the Pacers probably should have figured they can’t mess around when playing the Heat anyways. The fact of the matter is, the Pacers have little to no margin for error and they’ve spent two games messing up and not closing out.
Miami may be up 2-1 in the series, but the Pacers have had chances to make moves on the Heat and have missed them and that’s a good way to lose a series like this.
