The Indiana Pacers outplayed the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, at least according to Paul George they did. It’s flabbergasting that a man who was literally in the game has not firm grasp on just ho wit turned out, but maybe that concussion is still lingering for George as he couldn’t have been more foolish in his postgame press conference following the Heat’s utter destruction of the Pacers.
George noted that the Heat were outplayed on the stat sheet by the Pacers and that the game was won at the free throw line. Granted, the Heat went to the free throw line plenty of times in Game 4 but there were plenty of things wrong with what the Pacers did that caused the loss.
In what is already a classic LeBron James moment, when told about George’s comments, he promptly studied the stat sheet and dropped some knowledge on us all.
George: “Looking at the stat sheet, we outplayed ‘em.” LeBron: “We had 7 steals, 20 Pts off turnovers, that has nothing to do w/ FT line.”

Miami dominated the Pacers and that was apparent again in Game 4 on Monday night. While the Pacers seem pretty good at talking off the court, they don’t seem so adept at talking with their game while on it and that is being reflected in their defeat in the Conference Finals and their eventual exit either in Game 5 or Game 6 this week.
