Ray Allen "Appears Likely" to Play in Game 5

(5:13 UPDATE) Chris Andersen is inactive, Ray Allen active for Game 5, the team announced.

Ray Allen’s status for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals is still uncertain, but the veteran participated in pregame shootarounds Wednesday night.

Indications are that he is more likely than not to play.

Allen’s hip has been bothering him since after the Heat’s win in Game 4. Allen’s spacing will surely be missed should he sit this one out.

It’s been speculated that James Jones would step into that spot, but I think it is more likely that a combination of Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole would be used. On-ball defense has been huge this series, and that’s not something that Jones is good at.

Hopefully for Miami, though, they don’t have to worry about that.
