Sometimes networks don’t always do things right, especially when it’s in the moment and when what you thought was going to happen doesn’t actually happen. This was the case on Wednesday night when ESPN jumped the gun on the Heat beating the Pacers in Game 5 and cued up a graphic the exclaimed the Heat were off the NBA Finals once again.
The only problem is they aren’t — at least not yet.
As we can see in this photo passed along from Busted Coverage, the ESPN graphics department posted up a graphic the pronounced the Heat winners of Game 5 when they were really three point losers.

The error was obviously corrected but the fact that it still happened shows how hot and bothered ESPN is for the Heat. You can’t blame them either, as if there’s a more obsessive network than ESPN we haven’t found it yet. When ESPN loves something, they go hardcore FOX News on it and just bury themselves in that content. In his case, it’s the Miami Heat and that graphics fail shows that ESPN was just a little too excited and ready for the Heat to win.
At least they have it though, they’ll need it for Game 6.
