With the Miami Heat so close to their third straight championship, the comparisons to past dynasties are starting to ramp up. Specifically, the world seems to be fixated on the Heat and the 90s era Chicago Bulls who were led by Michael Jordan. It’s not surprising that the two teams are so often compared, as LeBron James is actively compared to Jordan and comparing their title tams is a natural progression.
But the lines are split when it comes to who fans think would win in a head-to-head we wish we’d all be able to see. For Horace Grant, who played with Micheal Jordan in thee 90s, he believes that the teams he was on would have locked the Heat down and beaten them.
As Grant told a radio station in Chicago, via ESPN.com, he believes that the Miami Heat of today would have had no chance against the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s.
“The Heat wouldn’t have had a chance,” Grant said Tuesday on WSCR-AM in Chicago. “We would have locked them up. We would have locked them up. Especially with the rules today, Michael would have had a field day.”
It’s clear where Grant’s loyalty lies and it’s hard to take his opinion seriously considering ti’s so biased. Still, it’s a debate that will only gain steam as the Heat continue to win, and it’s a dream matchup we wish we’d all be able to see.
