LeBron James Wants To Put Pressure On Heat to Improve Roster

The Miami Heat got the inevitable news this morning that LeBron James will be opting out of his contract and will be testing free agency this summer. But fans are now stuck wondering why LeBron decided to opt out and why he decided to opt out now.

We all know the reason, it’s been written on the wall for a while now and it’s the easiest and strongest excuse for LeBron to fall back on. As pointed out by Yahoo! Sports insider Adrian Wojnarowksi, the reason LeBron opted out of his contract is so there can be pressure applied to Miami to improve the roster for the 2014-15 season.

It was no secret that LeBron was unhappy with the lack of additions the team had last summer and he ended up being right about needing certain players to get better. Now that he has opted out, LeBron is telling the Heat that they need to put a better team together in order for him to come back and the question now becomes can the Heat do this or is LeBron going to ride off with another, more championship ready team?
