The LeBron James drama is something that just won’t go away and that’s to be expected when the best player on the planet sudden puts himself up for auction. The Miami Heat remain the best option to re-sign LeBron but we can’t discount his other options just because Miami is the best.
The Los Angeles Clippers, as they are now, seem to be a pretty good challenger to the Heat for LeBron’s loyalty and that has led to sign-and-trade rumors to start popping up that have the Clippers trading Blake Griffin to the Heat for LeBron James.
We heard about these rumors a while back, but now that LeBron has actually opted out, they sound less crazy — well, unless you’re Ramona Shelburne from ESPNLosAngeles.
Yes, the Clippers are discussing a run at LeBron. No, they would not trade Blake Griffin. Doc has assured him many times he’s “untouchable”

The Heat will not sign-and-trade LeBron James unless it’s a last resort and once they sign him, they’re unlikely to ever let him go. But if a trade were to happen, it would have to be epic and the Clippers unwillingness to trade Griffin shows that they aren’t willing to acquire LeBron at any cost.
