The NBA is in a frenzy over who may be able to sign LeBron James and who won’t be able to but these early stages of free agency will be all about LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony getting paired together.
The Atlanta Hawks are among the teams who think they can be the team to pair both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony together, this according to ESPN.
In addition to the Miami Heat’s obvious desire to retain LeBron James by any means necessary and pursue Anthony if he urges them to do so, sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks are among the teams already mulling potential trades designed to clear enough cap space to be able to recruit the two stars and close friends.
This seems to be a bit of a pipe dream but it’s one that the Hawks truly believe in. Of course, it could be a case where they are just throwing their names out there to see what happens, but the fact that the Hawks are in on LeBron James talks just goes to show the depth of teams who will be pining for his attention this summer in an attempt to sign him away from the Miami Heat and be the team that lands the best player on the planet.
