Report: Udonis Haslem to Opt Out of Contract With Heat

The Miami Heat lost out on history this year when they failed to win a third straight NBA title and this summer is going to be spent convincing LeBron James to re-sign and building a winning club through free agency. LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will all be hitting the open market this summer and it’s up to Miami to convince them to return.

Another player who has been a fan favorite for years is also going to be hitting the open market as according to Ethan Skolnick of Bleacher Report, Udonis Haslem will be opting out of his contract to test free agency.

It’s not all bad news though as Haslem is opting out mainly to help the Heat free up as much money as possible to build another winner this summer.

Even though he’s free to talk to and sign with another team in the NBA, Haslem is perhaps the most loyal player that the Miami Heat have had over the last decade. He’s grinded day in and day out for Miami and while he has opted out of his deal, he’s likely going to go absolutely nowhere next season other than South Beach.
