The future of LeBron James is uncertain at best but it’s not one that the Miami Heat are fretting over too much. The bottom line with LeBron is that the Heat just need to show some sort of an effort in getting a better roster built around him and he’ll likely come back for less money.
That won’t stop other teams from trying to do the same thing but only give him a max contract at the same time. According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Phoenix Suns are getting serious about chasing LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony and pairing the two on their roster next season.
Armed with an offer that no else in the NBA can make – a chance to partner with Carmelo Anthony on an instant championship contender – the Phoenix Suns are planning an aggressive pursuit of LeBron James on Tuesday, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Suns are a dark horse team in the LeBron sweepstakes as it could afford him a chance to take a team who has rarely tasted victory to the highest heights possible. Let’s not laugh at the Suns too much as they have a solid young roster that shocked everyone this season by nearly making the postseason.
Phoenix also has Eric Bledsoe to dangle in front of LeBron, a guy he’d love to play with and is friends with off the court and if they can nab either Kevin Love or Carmelo Anthony then LeBron James will surely take Phoenix more seriously than we all are.
