The Miami Heat need to find a way to make their roster more appealing the LeBron James and that means that they’re going to have to fill the roster with enough enticing talent to make sure that no one offers the best player on the planet a better option.
Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas reports the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Toronto Raptors will all be in pursuit of Vince Carter.
Carter has had an excellent career and he still seems to be going strong in a very Ray Allen sort of way. He’s not Vince-sanity anymore but he is still an effective veteran that you can easily see on the Heat roster.
Of course, Carter isn’t going to be the only player that can fix the Heat roster, but there’s a good chance that he would be willing to sign cheap and join up with the Heat as they pursue another title. The question of if he works or not sort of answers itself but for every veteran like Carter that the Heat add, they’ll need to grab an exciting younger player to make sure the roster has depth and flow to it over the course of a lengthy playoff run.
