The Miami Heat are looking at ways to bring back the Big 3 this summer and it appears that one half of the decision has already been made and it’s not on the Heat side of things. While Miami is trying to get a roster together filled with talent that will help Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade out this year, it will ultimately be up to the Big 3 to choose whether they want to re-sign or not.
According to Yahoo! Sports insider Adrian Wojnarowski, LeBron, Wade and Bosh all have the framework in place to return to the Heat this summer and are just waiting to be convinced that they should sign the contracts they seemingly already have figured out.
The Heat’s free agents – James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem – have the framework of deals in place to remain with Miami, arming Riley with his limitations within the salary cap to sign talent, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
“Everybody has their [contract] number and has left a little bit of room to let [Riley] maneuver,” one source briefed on the contract discussions told Yahoo Sports.
This means that the ball is officially in Pat Riley’s court and he’s only going to get one last shot off before time expires on him. Miami is going to get the first and most legitimate crack at the Big 3 as the framework for deals being in place means that they’re waiting to see what Riley will do and if he can convince them to put a pen to their contracts.
