The moment that NBA fans had been waiting all summer for and the moment that Cleveland Cavaliers fans have been waiting four years for has finally arrived. LeBron James has broken the hearts of Heat fans everywhere and decided to sign with the Cavs this summer and return home to his roots.
It’s a move that basketball fans in general are happy about, as it’s okay for them to now root for LeBron again following the way he was vilified for joining the Heat back in 2010. Needless to say, the happiest fans of them all are the Cleveland Cavaliers fans as the team is welcoming back LeBron with open arms and the man at the front of the line is owner Dan Gilbert.
Welcome Home @kingjames. I am excited for the fans and people of Cleveland and Ohio. No fans and people deserve a winner more than them…..
— Dan Gilbert (@cavsdan) July 11, 2014
Of course, this is all ironic given that the letter he wrote back in 2010 that blew LeBron out of the water for having left the Cavs still exists but it buried somewhere deep. Either way, it’s clear that there is no bad blood between LeBron and the Cavaliers and it’s probably the happiest day that the city of Cleveland has ever endured.
