LeBron James Announces He Will Sign with Cleveland Cavaliers

The moment Miami Heat fans were dreading has finally arrived as LeBron James has made his decision and it’s not something that fans in South Beach wanted to hear. We could see the writing on the wall, but LeBron James himself has officially confirmed to Sports Illustrated that he will be returning home to the Cleveland Cavaliers and leave the Miami Heat.

LeBron gave the exclusive story to Sports Illustrated and went about making his decision this time around in a lowkey manner.

I always believed that I’d return to Cleveland and finish my career there. I just didn’t know when. After the season, free agency wasn’t even a thought. But I have two boys and my wife, Savannah, is pregnant with a girl. I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown. I looked at other teams, but I wasn’t going to leave Miami for anywhere except Cleveland. The more time passed, the more it felt right. This is what makes me happy.

Heat fans can’t be all that upset with LeBron leaving, as it would be hypocritical to the stance they took in 2010 when LeBron left the Cavaliers to join up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. BUt the loss of LeBron is allowed to sting as it’s never fun losing the best player ont he planet and to have done so in such an abrupt manner.

Just a few weeks ago things looked like they’d be getting back to normal for the Big 3 but over the course of a week, the wheels have fallen off and LeBron James has now decided that his time in Miami is over and he will be taking his talents back to Cleveland.

Good luck thank you for four great years! I believe in Pat Riley!

Does anyone want to buy some Heat Tickets?
I will not have to worry about beating my fellow Heat Fans to the parking lot now if we fall too far behind.

I’m actually kind of interested to see what we do now. Gonna have all the cap room in the world if Bosh leaves without anyone to realistically spend it on this year. Next year though….

If Bosh comes back, Miami is still firmly a playoff team with one or two “minor” acquisitions.

Regardless, it will be fun to root for the team to exceed expectations again as opposed to simply hoping they meet them.

It’s sad that he bailed on Miami after his famous introduction speech, where he promised, “not one, not two, not three, not four…” Sad, but I would rather have Pat Riley than LeBron James, so let’s go win the East and let LeBron live with his decision.

Good lord… It was a pep rally.

I can’t believe anybody was actually surprised this happened. Lebron stopped playing for the Heat after game 2 of the finals. I think, deep down, everybody within the Heat organization knew the pastures seemed greener in Cleveland, and that he had the perfect excuse to go back. He’s going “HOME.”
