Miami Airport Thanks Dwyane Wade For Staying

Despite facing the return of LeBron James to Cleveland and the near-imminent departure of Chris Bosh to Houston, there was little doubt that the third member of the former “Big 3,” Dwyane Wade, would ever leave Miami.

Bosh re-signed and so did Wade, agreeing to terms on a 2-year contract worth $31.1 million. Wade seems destined to remain part of the Miami Heat franchise for the rest of his playing career – and perhaps beyond. With that in mind, Miami-Dade County and Miami International Airport honored Wade’s choice and thanked him for his continued loyalty to the Miami Heat, as seen in this picture captured by a driver (via Twitter):

This isn’t the first time the County has recognized Wade for his efforts on the basketball court. At the start of the free agency period in 2010, Miami Dade’s Board of County Commissioners officially designated the area as “Miami-Wade County” during the week July 1- 7. Wade was instrumental in bringing free agents James and Bosh to the Heat and, four years and two championships later, his efforts are worthy or recognition.

Obviously, the admiration is mutual with Wade tweeting out this message after officially re-signing with Miami:
